“The Mysteries of God”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The learning objective for us as the children of God is to come to know in full His “mysteries”—meaning the fundamental truths of salvation (Alma 12:9). The degree to which we may know His truth is dependent upon how open our hearts are to receive such truth, and on the heed and diligence we give to it. Thus the quality of our heart—how receptive it is, or how rejecting it is—will determine how much of His word is “found in us” at the last day (Alma 12:13, see also Alma 12:36). And how much of His word is found in us will determine our ultimate celestial future. Those who teach by the Spirit of God will know how much of the word to impart unto learners based on their willingness to be entreated and respond with obedience.
