, etc. Until the reign of the Judges, the Nephites had no set value to their currency. As far back as Nephi they had traded their precious goods "according to the minds and the circumstances of the people." They had not adopted at any time the accounting system of the Jews whence their fathers came. Neither did they evaluate their gold and silver, or other media of exchange, in the same manner nor by the same rules throughout every generation. Each district or land reckoned their values to suit their own needs.
