Mormon specifies the judges’ compensation but not that of the lawyers, although they clearly participate in this process. We lack details to determine whether the lawyers received some amount of compensation in addition to that of the judges or whether the judge received the compensation and from it paid the lawyer(s) who worked with him. It seems reasonable that, in a scribe/lawyer system, one scribe/ lawyer worked with one judge and that the two might share in the compensation for the judicial process.
