Amulek’s call to be Alma’s companion (v. 29) is only briefly mentioned, but he seems to have readily accepted it. Being filled with the Holy Ghost and having power given to them to overcome their imprisonment is a summary of the chapters that follow which was given by Mormon as he abridges the record. Mormon does give, however, the reason for their having been given such power; “that the Lord might show forth his power in them” (vv. 31–32). The Lord does accompany his servants.
