“Alma Tarried Many Days”

Brant Gardner

Alma spends “many days” preparing for his mission among the Ammonihahites. Perhaps this was a physical respite needed after his many days of fasting (verse 26) or perhaps it was some other form of preparation. In any case, Alma begins to preach alone, as he had done before, and not only has no greater success, the Ammonihahites actually “did wax more gross in their iniquities.”
