As Alma traveled, he was troubled over the people of Ammonihah when an angel appeared—the same angel who had first appeared to him and turned his life around with his earth-shaking (literally as well as figuratively, Mosiah 27:18) first message. The fact that an angel has appeared only twice should not be interpreted to mean that Alma has had no communication from Yahweh in-between these two visitations, but simply that they did not take the form of a heavenly messenger. Unquestionably, Alma’s faithfulness after the first visitation resulted in this second visitation from the same messenger with his comforting message.
