“Took His Journey Towards the City Which Was Called Aaron”

Brant Gardner

Alma, having apparently failed in Ammonihah, continues toward the next city. Aaron must also be politically dependent on Zarahemla. This route confirms that Alma is visiting the political realm of the Nephite polity.

Geography: Aaron’s geographic position is not specifically stated, and Joseph L. Allen hypothesizes two cities by that name. Sorenson posits only a single city by the name, lying east of Ammonihah, perhaps midway on the narrow neck of land. The single location is more likely.
