“Wrestling with God in Mighty Prayer”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

Missionaries pray continually for success in bringing souls to Christ. Orson Pratt set a goal of bringing two hundred souls into the Church in Scotland. It is not wrong to seek a goal of bringing so many people into the Church. Remember that the Lord wants baptisms (see 3 Nephi 11), for this is the symbol of people coming unto Christ and taking His name upon them. It is the Spirit that converts, so we pray constantly that the Spirit will be poured out upon the people (see Mosiah 18:10–12; Alma 16:16; 19:36; Helaman 6:36). How do we feel about the souls of our fellowmen? (see Mosiah 28:3; Alma 29:9–10).
