As mentioned above, the people of Gideon were much more faithful than the people of Zarahemla. This faithfulness caused Alma great joy. Therefore the Spirit guides Alma in a more positive approach as he speaks to them (v. 26). Alma prays for them or perhaps, in apostolic fashion, blesses them as he departs.
