“Always Abound in Good Works”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Alma is counseling the people of Gideon to live worthy of the companionship of the Spirit, that they might enjoy the “fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22). Humility, gentleness, patience, long-suffering-these virtues come by and through the power of the Holy Ghost; they begin to flow from a regenerated heart. See Commentary 2:163.
