Alma even goes further and says by suffering the pains and anguish of a mortal life he will have merciful sense of what all human beings have suffered. Later in Alma 34:15 we learn that his suffering on the cross will so intense and so terrible that it will arouse the love and mercy in the intelligences throughout this round of God's creation. It will have an infinite or universal impact and overcome the demands of justice on behalf of all who repent and enter God's kingdom.
