“That He May Loose the Bands of Death Which Bind His People”
Only through submitting to death could our Lord then meet and conquer this universal foe, the one thing that every mortal has in common with every other mortal. “For behold, he surely must die that salvation may come; yea, it behooveth him and becometh expedient that he dieth, to bring to pass the resurrection of the dead” (Helaman 14:15). “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22).
