Alma provides many questions—plus plain and precious answers—to induce his listeners to evaluate their lives and rise to their divine potential. He now does that which all prophets do: he commands the people of the Church to obey so that they can be “partakers of the fruit of the tree of life” (verse 62). And Alma invites those not of the faith to come unto Christ and be baptized unto repentance.
