“Touch Not Their Unclean Things”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Once the Good Shepherd has called you and you have entered his fold, stay away from the wicked and do not touch “their unclean things.” Do not let any “ravenous wolf” enter into your life—such as pornography, indecent and violent movies, immoral behavior, substance abuse, or any other worldly perversions. If one of those wolves does try to get into your life and attack you, drive him out or he will destroy you.

In a general sense, the book of life is a record of all the behavior of the human family; it is kept in heaven. Specifically, it contains the names of the faithful (D&C 128:6–7; Psalm 69:28; Revelation 3:5; 21:27) who will inherit eternal life. It is also called “the book of the names of the sanctified, even them of the celestial world” (D&C 88:2).
