“Things of the World”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

As with the preceding verse, no reference is made to over acts or wicked deeds. The warning is sounded to those whose heads are set upon the things of the world, those whose attention centers in satiating their own appetites. Whether it be in the form of stylish fashions, excessive leisure, or some other diversion is of no moment; what is important is that service to both God and man has not been rendered. (See also D&C 121:34-36.)
