Alma repeats his message of repentance as preparation for the Messiah’s coming. Interestingly, Alma’s prophetic foreknowledge of the Messiah’s atoning does not include the humble circumstances of Jesus’s mortality. Rather, Alma’s Messiah shall “come… in his glory, in his might, majesty, power, and dominion.” This description fits the resurrected Messiah who appears in the New World, not the mortal Messiah of the Old World. Alma also warns his audience that this great occasion is “very soon.”
