“A Child of the Devil”

Alan C. Miner

According to McConkie and Millet, just as we can take upon us the name of Christ and become the sons and daughters of God and heirs to his kingdom, so we can choose to take upon us the name of the adversary and become heirs of his kingdom. Thus Cain, through his rebellion, took upon himself the name Perdition (see Moses 5:24). In the Old Testament, such were called the sons of Belial (Deuteronomy 13:13; Judges 19:22; 20:13; 1 Samuel 10:27). [Joseph F. McConkie and Robert L.
