“Bring Forth Works of Righteousness”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
If the seed is from the tree of life, it will bring forth fruit like that of its parent tree. Indeed, “every seed bringeth forth unto its own likeness’ (Alma 32:31). Those who have truly chosen to follow Christ will bring forth fruits worthy of Christ. Once individuals have been born again, once the Spirit of the Lord has begun to bring about the mighty change, once they have become new creatures in Christ, Christ begins to live in them (see Galatians 2:20). That is, their works become his works; they are motivated and given meaning and substance and effect by him, through the power of his Spirit.”
