“Or Do Ye Imagine to Yourselves That Ye Can Lie Unto the Lord in That Day”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

When, at last, your labors on earth are finished, and the great day of the Lord shall come, in your imagination, can you hear His voice saying unto you that your works on earth have "been the works of righteousness," therefore, "Come unto Me," and partake of My goodness and My glory.

Or do you imagine that in His mercy you can deceive the Lord and falsely claim that your works on earth were good, and that in the mistaken testimony which you give, He will save you?

Many of us imagine that at that time and in that day, when we stand before the Lord to be judged, we will escape the just rewards of merit or demerit because our deeds will be unknown to Him. If you do, just remember:

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall he not know?

The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. (Psalm 94:9-11)

All our works are known unto God!
