“A Mighty Change Wrought in His Heart”

Brant Gardner

Rhetoric: Alma again brings the past into the present, recapitulating Alma1’s establishment of churches in Zarahemla, so that the same “mighty change” occurred for his listeners’ parents. Alma neatly parallels the connection between his father’s conversion and his own by urging his audience to do the same. In recalling the mighty change their parents made, they will understand that they, too, must make such a change.
