As discussed under Alma 3:27, the original text permitted only the past tense in the expression “thus ended ”. The original ended will be maintained here in Alma 4:5. In this instance, the 1837 edition replaced ended with endeth. The correct ended was restored to the LDS text in the 1906 and 1981 LDS editions and to the RLDS text in the 1908 RLDS edition.
