It is amazing that the Nephites had barely cleansed the land of the dead when another army of Lamanites descended on the land. These latest invaders had apparently been mobilized to support the earlier army of the Lamanites and they came as reinforcements. But they were too late. Nevertheless, the weary Nephites had to arouse themselves and once more drive this pestilence of Lamanites from the land. Now in verse 22 we learn for the first time that Alma the younger had been seriously wounded during the earlier war and therefore could not participate in this latest conflict.
