Redaction: This verse quotes Mormon’s source in the large plates, one that does not appear in the small-plates version we have of Nephi’s writings. Mormon is so interested in this passage, that he repeats the general information twice, so I think it likely that Mormon included this prophecy in his book of Lehi, which would have contained Nephi’s writings and prophecies.
