“I Rejected My Redeemer”

Brant Gardner

Here Alma2 confesses his sin—not fighting against “the church” but “reject[ing] my Redeemer.” Alma2 had fallen into the same religious trap that had snared his father as Noah’s priest. His father had broken free of that trap by following a prophet’s words, then had gone on to become a powerful voice for the Messiah he had once rejected. Now his son treads the same path. Through an angel’s intervention, he now understands the Atoning Messiah’s mission and will also use this pivotal experience to become Yahweh’s mighty servant.
