“King Mosiah Sent a Proclamation Throughout the Land”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

We claim the privilege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may (Articles of Faith 1:11).

Again in the city of Zarahemla the verity manifests itself that belief can tolerate the presence of unbelief, and truth the presence of error, but not the reverse. The strength of truth rests within itself, while error and falsehood must dominate their environment to survive. The spirit of one is peace; the spirit of the other is contention. Persecution is often born of the fear of detection, while patience and long-suffering are born of the confidence of the Spirit.
