So Alma is told to go forth warning the people and inviting them to repent and enter the Church. Notice in the next two verses how patient the Lord is with the offender and how anxious he is to have them forgiven if they will just try to repent. And even when they falter the Lord wants them to be forgiven even if it takes a long time to overcome their weaknesses. The Lord even says he will condemn any who are not willing to forgive those who are making a desperate effort to overcome their weaknesses.
