“He That Will Not Hear My Voice the Same Shall Ye Not Receive into My Church”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Those who do not care to know the Lord-those who flaunt their iniquity, profane his name, and do despite to the spirit of grace-shall not be known of the Holy One at the time of judgment (see Matthew 7:23); these shall not be identified, called up, or claimed by him who is the captain of the soul. These refused the redemption to a higher glory that might have been theirs through acceptance of Christ and single-minded obedience to his laws and ordinances. Having been released from hell through the sound of the second trump-the announcement of the second resurrection or resurrection of the unjust (see D&C 76:85; D&C 88:100-101)-these shall have part in that kingdom of which the revelations speak: “They shall be servants of the Most High; but where God and Christ dwell they cannot come, worlds without end” (D&C 76:112).
