We read that there was nothing preached in the newly organized churches (congregations) in Zarahemla “except it were repentance and faith in God” (verse 22). To live the gospel, enjoy the blessings of the Spirit, and endure to the end, we are entreated to exercise our faith in Jesus Christ and become perfected in Him by applying the Atonement to our lives through repentance (see 3 Nephi 27:20).
