“I Am Unworthy to Glory of Myself”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The humility of Alma is shown in this one sentence. He knew the Lord was with him yet he gloried not in himself. He testified to his people that he was "unworthy" of the Lord's confidence in making him to proclaim His Salvation. They, themselves, he implied, should glory in the blessings of the Lord, for He had armed them "with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory." (1 Ne. 14:14) Alma took no credit unto himself for the "plentiful harvest" that the Lord had garnered, but in thanksgiving to the Great Giver of all good, he praised his Maker, and offered homage to His holy name.
