The oath made with the Lamanite king by the newly appointed King Limhi (vv. 25–26) fulfilled another of Abinadi’s prophecies. The Lord had said through him: “This generation, because of their iniquities, shall be brought into bondage” (Mosiah 12:2). Further details of the prophecy were not fulfilled until after the two years of peace (Mosiah 19:29). These details will be discussed at the time of their fulfillment.
