King Noah Commanded Them That They Should Not Return

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The king commanded that they should not return, but they grew so angry with him, that they burned him to death, even as he had martyred Abinadi. Noah's priests were saved from a similar fate by flight further into the wilderness.

When the men who had put Noah to death were about to return to the Land of Lehi-Nephi, they met Gideon's party, and informed them of Noah's end and of the escape of the priests. They also rejoiced in the news Gideon brought because they learned that their wives and children had been spared by the Lamanites.
