“If This Be the Desire of Your Hearts, What Have You Against Being Baptized in the Name of the Lord?”

If, they, being willing to assume the obligations enumerated, and if they desiring to be redeemed of God, and longing to be numbered with those of the First Resurrection, he then asked, "What have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord?"

He explained to them, that as individuals, they would do this as a witness before God that they entered into a covenant with Him to do His will, and to keep His commandments. The blessings of the Lord would then be poured out upon them more abundantly.
