Alma taught that which he had learned from Abinadi, namely “Jesus Christ and him crucified” (cf. 1 Corinthians 2:2). The Atonement is the fundamental principle of Christianity, a central doctrine around which all other doctrines revolve and of which all other principles are but appendages (see Teachings, p. 121).
