In Abinadi’s teaching and exhortations we come to know the goodness of God and His masterful plan of redemption that comes only through His beloved Son Jesus Christ. To take full advantage of His atoning sacrifice, we must repent and come unto Him. The plea of Abinadi, like that of all the holy prophets, past and present, resonates through generations of time: Repent and come unto Christ. Through sincere repentance and faithfully honoring our gospel covenants, we can become the sons of daughters of God and thus, through spiritual adoption into the family of Christ, come to understand that “redemption cometh through Christ the Lord, who is the very Eternal Father” (Mosiah 16:15).
