“This Mortal Shall Put on Immortality”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

It is remarkable that many of the same thoughts inspired the Nephite servants of God as later they did His servants in and about Jerusalem. Often the same words were spoken concerning the same doctrine. We need not wonder at this, because, when we remember the same God, or His Spirit, directed the utterances of His inspired teachers and evangelists we must, necessarily, expect to find the same phraseology, more or less. Then, again, His teachings are perfect; they cannot be improved upon.

Here is what the Apostle Paul said, also to the Corinthians:

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Shall be brought before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to their works. See the following references:
