“All the Ends of the Earth Shall See the Salvation of Our God”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Having explained earlier how it is that the servants of the Lord (and even the Lord himself) publish the message of gospel peace (see commentary on Mosiah 15:14-19), Abinadi now quotes from what we know as Isaiah 52:8-10. Having spoken at length concerning the condescension of the Holy One, having discoursed masterfully upon the ministry of Christ and the salvation available through his redeeming blood, and having looked forward to that time when all men and women will be resurrected and judged according to their merits and labors on earth, Abinadi now rejoices in the coming glory of the Millennium, that era of consummate peace when Christ will have won the victory and when that old serpent, even Satan, will have been bound and consigned to the bottomless pit for a thousand years. See commentary on 1 Nephi 22:10-12; 3 Nephi 16:20; Isaiah 20:35.
