“And These Are They Who Have Published Peace”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The proclamation of the gospel message is the proclamation of peace, and those called to declare the word are publishers of peace. Peace in the human soul and peace in the world can come only when men and women accept the teachings of the lowly Nazarene and apply his atoning blood in their behalf. “Being justified by faith,” Paul wrote, “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” a peace which passes human understanding (Romans 5:1; cf. Philippians 4:7; Colossians 3:15). “Peace I leave with you,” the Master said, “my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27.)
