“God Himself Shall Come Down Among the Children of Men”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Chapter 15 contains some of Abinadi’s commentary on Isaiah 53, just quoted. It is not a verse-by-verse treatment, but thematic. Abinadi’s prophecy that God himself would come down among the children of men and redeem his people is the same message the angel delivered to King Benjamin more than twenty years later (Mosiah 3:5–11). Perhaps the angel who delivered that message to the king (Mosiah 3:2) was the martyred Abinadi himself.
