“The Father”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Elohim as the Father of spirits. Elohim is the Father of the spirits of all men, including Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12:9; Numbers 16:22) and is thus the ultimate object of our worship. “True worshippers,” Jesus taught the Samaritan woman, “shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him” (JST, John 4:25). Elohim is our Father because he gave us life-provided a spirit birth for each of us.
