“And Now I Read Unto You the Remainder of the Commandments of God”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Previously, Abinadi had read unto the priests of King Noah the First and Second of the Ten Commandments given to the Children of Israel when on Mount Sinai the Lord entered into a covenant with them that, if they would be faithful to Him, He would be their God. (See Chapter 12:35-36) Moses stood as the intermediary between Yahweh (Jehovah) and Israel when this Covenant was made, and near the end of their long sojourn in the wilderness he reminded them that, "The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day." (Deut. 5:3)
