“The Law of Moses”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

There is no salvation in rejecting Christ or in disobedience to his commandments. Neither the law of Moses nor the fulness of the gospel can save a single soul independent of the atoning sacrifice of Christ. Salvation is in Christ and must come by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel, as instituted by him. (Articles of Faith 1:3; cf. Mosiah 13:28.)

“Salvation”

There is a power in the truths of salvation that kindles the fire of faith and courage in those that accept them or burns with bitterness and hatred in the hearts of those who reject them. Every accountable soul has been born with the ability to recognize the truths of salvation (Moroni 7:16; D&C 84:46; D&C 93:1-2). To accept those truths is to be immersed in the spirit they bring; to reject them is to be immersed in the spirit that opposes them.
