“Ye Know That I Speak the Truth”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Noah and his priests knew that Abinadi spoke the truth (cf. Jacob 7:14; Alma 11:24; Alma 30:42). Indeed, had they not known so, they would not have been fearful of his words. Had Abinadi been a false prophet he could have wandered the streets of the city of Lehi-Nephi with freedom to speak to any that would listen. The kingdom of darkness and falsehood is not at war with itself; its contention is with light and truth.
