“Know Ye Not That I Speak the Truth?”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The spirit of prophecy that was with Abinadi gave him power of speech to declare to the iniquitous priests the folly of their ways. This spirit led him to see their secret paths, which, they thought, were known only to them. The spirit of prophecy is always the spirit of truth. Jacob, the brother of Nephi and the son of the Prophet Lehi, in speaking of prophesying, once said, "It speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be." (Jacob 4:13) Evil and error quake in its presence, the wicked fear and tremble.
