In this prophecy the people are told how hail, drought from the east wind, and crickets or insects will devour their crops. Then the prophecy becomes more ominous. Abinadi quotes the Lord as saying that unless these people repent they be annihilated and wiped off the face of the land. However their records will survive and tell others who will come in to possess the land how they happened to be wiped out because of wickedness.
