“A Knowledge of a Remnant of the People Who Have Been Destroyed”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The records of the Jaredites will be a second witness to the verity that disobedience brings bondage and destruction. A knowledge of the past is as a map by which we can mark a safe course for travel into the future. The restoration of the past may well have a more powerful effect on the hearts and minds of men than the revelation of the future.
