“Hear and Know the Voice by Which Ye Shall Be Called”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Jesus taught that his sheep know his voice (John 10:4, 27). That is, those who have “believing blood”-those who developed the capacity and talent for spirituality in the premortal world-these recognize the voice of Christ in this life, the testimony of the true servants of God spoken by the power of the Holy Ghost. The elect hear the voice of the Lord; they harden not their hearts (D&C 29:7). Further, they hear the voice of Christ calling from deep within the recesses of their own soul-they listen to and respond to the voice of conscience, the Light of Christ.
