Because the Messiah’s name is written in the people’s hearts, they will “know the voice by which ye shall be called.” This “calling” represents the obligations due the servant of the master. The master “calls” and the servant responds (Mosiah 26:24). Although the relationship is that of master and servant, it is not a relationship of distance, but of intimacy. The servant’s duties bring him into contact with the master, allowing him to come to know the master intimately, earning the right to sit on master’s right.
It is also important that Benjamin continues to stress the dualism of the left/right hand, not only here but also in the next verse.
