Belief, in the true gospel sense and as commonly used in the scriptures, means faith ...Thus, to gain salvation, mankind must believe in Christ, or in other words, have faith in him. (New Witness, p. 22.) True belief in Christ is measured not alone in the mental acceptance of his atoning blood but in leaving the state of carnality-our association with worldliness-and becoming citizens of that state of holiness in which he resides.
