it is common to the ideologies of men to rationalize evil spirits under the rubric of insanity or mental disorder. The Book of Mormon affirms the reality of evil spirits and the power of the Lord and his authorized servants to exorcize demons. The present text certifies that our Lord literally cast evil spirits from the souls of persons afflicted with them.
