Of all the prophets recorded in the Book of Mormon, King Benjamin is the only one to use the term omnipotent, which Elder Bruce R. McConkie (1915–85) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles defined this way: “Christ is the Lord Omnipotent (Mosiah 3:5, 17–18, 21; 5:2, 15; Rev. 19:6), meaning that as Lord of all he has all power” (Mormon Doctrine, 2nd ed. [1966], 452).
